OPENING THE EXHIBITION WITH ARMS WIDE OPEN

‘VIP’S WITH A DIFFERENCE’: When half the country is grappling with Chikungunya and the hoped for speakers for your special event have all cancelled or called in sick, how do you bring off the official opening and tour? Why, you open it yourself, and invite your, friends, supporters, honourees and audience members to make up the official party, of course! That was the brilliant strategy of Hamilton Knight & Associates (HKA) Managing Director Gillian Rowlands (left), Conceptualiser of the HKA Careers & Lifestyles Expo/Symposium & Job Fair. After a challenging preparation period when most of her key support persons and many exhibitors were downed by ‘Chik V’, Mrs. Rowlands and her team still managed to stage a successful Expo at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Wednesday October 22, with over 20 exhibitors and hundreds of participants of all ages. Shown among those accompanying her on the opening tour of booths at the Expo are Diana McIntyre Pike, Founder, Country Style Community Tourism Network, 4th left, and students and teachers from three different high schools. This was the 12th anniversary of the HKA Careers & Lifestyles Expo/Symposium & Job Fair. Theme was “Working Local, Going Global”.
